What this website collects
This site collects personal information in one circumstance only: when you choose to submit an enquiry through the contact form or the start-a-project flow. Nothing is collected passively for advertising or profiling.
- Details you enter: your name, email address, phone number, organisation, and whatever you write in the message field.
- Answers you select: the project type, stage, budget range and timeline you choose.
- Technical details recorded with the submission: your IP address and browser user-agent string, retained so we can investigate abuse and apply rate limiting.
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. A session cookie is created only when you submit a form, and it exists solely to protect that submission against cross-site request forgery.
Why we hold it
To respond to your enquiry, to prepare a proposal if you ask for one, and to keep a record of the conversation. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who processes it on our behalf
- Our web hosting provider, which stores the site and its enquiry records.
- Our email provider, which delivers enquiry notifications to us.
These providers act as operators under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and process information only to provide those services to us.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are retained while they are commercially relevant and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can pick up a conversation you may return to. Where an enquiry does not lead to work and you ask us to remove it, we will.
How it is protected
The site is served over HTTPS. Submissions are validated and rate limited on the server, application directories are not publicly reachable, and access to enquiry records is restricted to Spike staff who need it.
Your rights under POPIA
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to connect@spiketech.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable period. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Links to other sites
This site links to external services such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp. Once you follow one of those links you are subject to that provider's privacy policy, not this one.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
